Terms of Service

These are the terms you agree to by using TownSquare. This is a placeholder — before public launch a solicitor-reviewed version will be published.
1. Accounts
You must be 16+ to create a consumer account. Advertiser accounts must be registered to a UK limited company, sole trader, partnership, or charity verified via Companies House. You are responsible for the security of your password.
2. What TownSquare is
TownSquare is a marketplace connecting consumers to time-limited offers and events from independent businesses. We are not a party to the underlying transaction between you and a listed business.
3. Advertiser obligations
- Only post offers you intend to honour in good faith.
- Comply with UK consumer law, advertising standards, and CMA guidance.
- No misleading claims, counterfeit goods, or age-restricted items without proper verification.
- Honour published terms of each offer including quantities, timing, and geography.
- Respond to low-rated reviews professionally within the 24h grace period.
4. Consumer obligations
- Use redemptions only within their stated terms and timeframes.
- Reviews must be based on actual redeemed experiences and must not defame, harass, or mislead.
- Do not attempt to sell, transfer, or duplicate redemption codes.
5. Pricing & payment
Advertiser listing fees are shown in the portal before payment. Prices are deterministic: Base × Area × Duration × Type × Demand. Payment is processed by Stripe. All fees are exclusive of VAT; VAT will be added where applicable.
6. Content moderation
- First offers from a new business require manual admin approval.
- Reports are reviewed within 24 hours.
- We may remove content that violates these terms without notice.
7. Refunds
Listing fees are non-refundable once an offer has been live for > 1 hour. If we remove a live offer for a platform-side reason (e.g. outage), we'll credit or refund pro rata.
8. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from settings. We may suspend accounts for fraud, abuse, or repeated policy violations. Suspensions are logged with reason and can be appealed via [email protected].
9. Liability
TownSquare is not liable for disputes between consumers and advertisers. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud. Otherwise our liability is capped at fees paid in the preceding 12 months.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of English courts.
